WINE REVIEW - Bread and Butter 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

aplofthouse

Bread and Butter in a glass? No not quite, this is a real mouthful in a glass though…full bodied packing a punch of a Cabernet Sauvignon but something that I would bathe in!

A deep ruby in colour, the nose for me is a medium+ with aromas of morello cherries, blueberries, bilberries, blackcurrant leaf, vanilla with likely some time spent in oak and some real tertiary notes of leather coming through too…WOWSERS!!

On the palate, full bodied, fully fermented to dry, high acidity, high tannins everything you want to see in a really good expression of a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon.

It’s meaty, it’s gamey, stick me with red meat and I will fly…if you are looking for value for money in what is a tough market to find good value Cali Cab Savs…I can fully recommend this wine at under £20.

To me this is a very strong 92/100 on The Devon Wine Guy scale for complexity, balance and ability to age much further.
