đ˝ď¸đˇTNWG FOOD REVIEW #4: The Elephant, Torquayđ˝ď¸đˇ
Category: FINE DINING
TNWG Food Rating: âââââ 5/5
đ˝ď¸Chef Simon Hulstone rightfully holds a Michelin star for elegant, ever changing depending on the season, superlative food. The pictures here do not do the food justice!
đ˝ď¸Situated right on the Torquay harbour, it is a delightful spot that is well worth your time and the decor inside is great too with a nod to the East.
đ˝ď¸Relaxed, informal yet decadent in style. Simon has held a Michelin since 2008 and you can see why. The scallops were cooked magnificently, with the emphasis not only on fish as depicted, however, given the close vicinity to the sea (you can see it from the window), there should be no reason for not tasting just how fresh this food really is!
đ˝ď¸An elegent way to start any lunchtime session, we popped in to enjoy the delights and would recommend wholeheartedly to all.
đˇTNWG WINE REVIEW: âââââ 5/5 Wine made for food.
The wine list is actually very respectable when considering price of typical Michelin offerings. Extensive with prices starting at around ÂŁ25 a bottle, there is nothing to diminish the offering and good varietals across the board. Again adding to the relaxed atmosphere but highlighting real marries with the food offering.
A great find and something worth visiting in the Torquay area. Thank you to @elephanttqy
